Digital Home Account Management
The design process for UX improvements of non-authenticated and credit plan features
Client: Major Telecom Client
Role: Sr. UX/UI Designer
Project Details:
Improve the user experience of the payment flow for the non-authenticated users and the credit plan flow for the post-paid users. Gather the requirements, create the user flows, and redesign the UI of the screens following the Digital Home predefined patterns to elevate the user experience.
Tools Used:
Adobe XD, Figma, Axure RP, FigJam, Adobe Illustrator, MS Teams
Contribution:
Requirement analysis, user flows, wireframes, and prototypes.
The Challenge
A complete redesign of the user experience of the digital home account management for the non-authenticated payment and credit plan payments flows.
Challenge Accepted
The features demanded a complete redesign of the user experience and should align with the existing components of the design system.
Approach
Analyze the requirements and estimate timelines by understanding the existing workflow. Redesign the user experience by implementing the necessary changes to the workflow and elevate the user experience by redesigning the UI and maintaining consistency with existing design system components.
How I helped
Collaborated with product owners, development teams, and researchers to align on the design goals.
Helped to maintain and update the design system components.
Collaborated with FigJam whiteboarding sessions to draft and understand the workflows.
Enhanced the flows to elevate the end-user experience.
Redesign the UI using Adobe XD and design components from the existing system.
Design the prototypes and review them with the product and dev teams.
Prototype in Axure RP to launch usability testing.
Handoff the designs to the dev teams and work along to check they have all they need.
Work Flows
I lead the whiteboarding sessions to understand and map the workflows with the product owners and technical SMEs(engineers) by using FIGJAM for creating the workflows. I reviewed the flows with the product, management, and engineering teams and worked on live sessions to simplify the flow to make it easy for the users to achieve the goal.
Wireframes
Adobe XD is mainly used for creating the high-fidelity UI of the screens. I used the components from the existing design system while working on wireframes. I organized multiple review sessions with the product and design peers. I implemented the changes based on constructive critique by defending the design decisions centered around the user.
Prototypes
I used Adobe XD to add the interactions to the screens while creating the prototypes for the internal use of the product, management, and development teams. For usability testing purposes, I created new prototypes using Axure RP 10. I reviewed the prototypes with respective teams and acquired signoffs within the timelines. I handed over the assets and shared the knowledge with the other designers.
Usability Testing
For usability testing purposes, I created new prototypes using Axure RP 10. I used coding to bring interactivity to the prototype. I helped users by creating a prototype that is close enough to the product to make it look live.
Retrospective
I enjoyed collaborating with other designers, researchers, developers, architects, product owners, and various levels of management. I improved my skills in questioning and requirements gathering while working with the product owners, management, and design peers. I enjoyed and learned about different systems how they work here. I lead the whiteboarding sessions to craft and understand the workflows that came into use while simplifying the UX and prototyping of the flows. The constructive feedback that I received from my design peers, management, and business helped me to create better designs. I successfully achieved the challenges that I accepted during my tenure. By the end of this project, I learned FigJam and added it to my skillset. I excelled in my skills in Adobe XD and Axure RP.
Thanks for walking down the project :)
